Curriculum Carsten

Carsten Dohnke, born 1963, internationally recognized teacher of Qigong, Tai-chi and Meditation. Carsten is a Sinologist – Study of the Chinese Art. He has 30 years of experience with Tao practices and is a Qigong Trainer in the Tai-chi and Qigong Network. His knowledge includes Qigong, Tao Sexual Practices, Inner Alchemy, Meditation, Martial Arts (Kung Fu, Wushu, Tai-chi), ancient Chinese Healing Practices and the Basic principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He lived for four years in Taiwan and studied Martial Arts and Meditation with ancient Shaolin Masters. Carsten is a Senior Inner Alchemy Teacher, and for years he was the Translator/Assistant of the well-known Tao Master Mantak Chia, the founder of the "Universal Tao". He is also a faithful student of Master Li Jun Feng, the founder of Shengzhen Qigong. In recent years he has practiced intensively with Tao Master Shangshi.

At the University of Hamburg he studied Sinology (Chinese Art) with the main focus on Taoism and Buddhism. He finished his studies with a scientific paper on the subject of "Qi“. To be able to have a better understanding of the human body, he has also dedicated himself for 2 years to Anatomy, Physiology and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Carsten published several articles about Qigong and Taoism. Extended articles about his work have been published in Stern and Cosmopolitan, among others.

At the present moment he practices and teaches mainly Taoism and Qigong. The practices of the Universal Tao (also Healing Tao/Tao Yoga), Sheng Zhen Qigong and Traditional Qigong forms for health take an important place in his teachings. In the last years his interest in energetic work has been focused more and more on understanding the Tao – what the core of life is made of. To open up new knowledge to him and to answer his many questions, his teacher Shangshi is always at his side.

Carsten travels on a regular base to Asia and visits, together with his wife Weihua, Chinese Healers, Masters or holy places. Inspired by the close contact with his teachers, Carsten is trying to transmit the essence of Taoism in a simple and lively way that is adapted to the way of living in the west. He teaches in Hamburg and throughout Europe. On top of that he and his wife Weihua invite Chinese Masters to come to Hamburg on a regular base.
