"Returning to your roots,
means being calm.
This is what they call,
having returned to your
original destination."

Laozi - chapter 16

Content of the Training

The Training

During training for a Qigong teacher you will learn functional Qigong forms and styles, which are healing to the body, mind and soul. Every style has its own emphasis and unfolds different functions. The basic training for a Qigong teacher consists of five modules, each with four practical days – mostly from Thursday to Sunday afternoon – and stretches out over approximately 1.5 years. After that a continuation of the training is possible.

While the Shengzhen-Qigong opens our heart for love and compassion through smooth, soft movements, the Shaolin-Sehnen-Qigong strengthens the bones, tendons and the body-power. Crane-Qigong helps us to return to a state of “Lightness of Being”, while the Qigong of the swimming Dragon has a rejuvenating function, because it supports the renewal of the cells and strengthens the libido. Because you will practice different forms and styles, you will have an easier access to the essence of Qigong, put against a background of Taoism.

The training includes Qigong and Meditation techniques, the medical aspects of movement, basic principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and basic knowledge of Taoist and Buddhist philosophy. You will attain a major tool to compose a training schedule for various target groups. To Carsten Dohnke a high level of professional skills are the first priority.

Comments of participants of the training in 2007-09

"It is a complete new feeling in life for me, to be in contact with my own center and inner power and on top of that, at the same time, approaching the world with an open heart.”     Jeanette P. Wiesbaden

"A fascinating voyage inwards."   Pia Z., Neustadt

"Very good and founded training, with deep insights in issues that have a strong connection to Qigong. We received a very good basic knowledge about Chinese herbs, estimating the lack of energy in participants, how we can support and advise the individual participant. The introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine was beautiful, as well as the subjects on Taoism, Buddhism and Tao. Especially worth mentioning is the deep knowledge and experience of mister Dohnke, who has been practicing what he teaches for more then 20 year and we, the participants, had the privilege to take advantage of this. In a very intelligent way he connects Knowledge and Philosophy from the East and the West and his teachings are amazingly varied, exciting and entertaining. I can recommend this training to anyone, who wants to get to know a Qigong system or several forms of Qigong, as well as to those who want to deepen their knowledge. These teachings are also especially suited for starters. You will learn everything you need to a) give courses or b) do something for yourself and get to know more about Qigong." I.L., Frankfurt

"The training went a lot deeper into the theory and practice then I’d expected. I didn’t think a lot of things would even be possible in this world. The training made me into another human being. Many of my viewpoints have changed. Carsten through experience in many directions and the wish to protect his students from traps and dangers, gives a feeling of protection and prevents that one is going to open up to things without a closer look. The possibility to get a glimpse from behind the curtains of the opinions in the west and to be able from the start to find out what I can expect from a certain Qigong point of view, felt very pleasant to me. During the training the program doesn’t only provide you with lectures and exercises, but it goes much further towards a deeper understanding and the feeling that I’m going to be guided away from my present point of view." Ulrike. H., Frankfurt

"The training really offers a general overview of Qigong and contains on top of that also insights in various philosophies. Thanks to his long experience with really the greatest people in this area Carsten has gained a treasure of experiences and he adds these to his teaching in an impressive way – physically, mentally and with his soul."   Joachim H. , Frankfurt

"I didn’t think that on top of learning the forms technically there would be a profound inner process, which has changed my life so positively after the training. Especially the meditative aspect of the training has given me a lot of power, peace and lightness this year. I was able to release a lot of my old habits."    Dieter F., Rohrsdorf
